investigation reflection

These last two weeks you have worked on your investigation process. Reflect and rate yourself using the rubric PLUS copy your response to QUIA.. Post with the subject INVESTIGATION REFLECTION. When you are finished continue with your 3 brainstorming design

I should be given a 3 because i'm working hard to prepare this slideshow and slideshare.
It is challenging to prepare the slideshow and slideshare these past 2 weeks.
and i'm also doing my best to make it clear enough for the 6th graders so they
can understand the design cycle ,and to make sure they don't have any problems
on the design cycle.

0 You did not reach a standard described by any of the descriptors given below.
1–2 (60 / 70)You stated the problem.
You investigated the problem, collecting information from few sources.
You listed some specification points.
3–4 (75 / 85) You described the problem, mentioning its relevance.
You investigated the problem, selecting and analysing information from some acknowledged sources.
You described a test to evaluate the product/solution against the design specification.
5–6 (95 / 100) You explained the problem, discussing its relevance.
You critically investigated the problem, evaluating information from a broad range of appropriate, acknowledged sources.
You described detailed methods for appropriate testing to evaluate the product/solution against the design specification.

Type a complete paragraph explaining your rating.

DESIGN BRIEF

10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it.  what i'm going to make for this project is a slideshare/powerpoint,im going to make it for the 6th graders so they can understand the design cycle.
11. What are the requirements for this assignment?  My assignment must be clear for the 6th graders to understand and must be 2 minutes.
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment?  The limitations of this project is the time because 2 minutes because 2 minutes isn't enough time to present the design cycle.
13. How will you "test" your project?  I will test my project by giving out test and making sure the 6th graders understand it.

DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS

Simple for a 6th grader to understand
Teach a 6th grader the Design Cycle
6th graders will be able to identify the steps of the Design Cycle
Will be a minimum of 2 minutes long
Not that distracting from the point
Possible to transfer onto a pen drive
Test
I will give them a test to make sure they understand the design cycle ,and for them to make sure they know it when ever they have a project on it.

slideshow and slideshare

MEASURMENTS
SCORE (1-10)
Simplicity
9
Music
9
Characteristics
10
Total
28

SLIDESHOW:

The score i give myself for simplicity is a 9 because i'm comparing a powerpoint with a slideshare and it is easier to get into a power point and its kind of gonna be easier to be on slideshare because its going to be in the internet. And on powerpoint you just need to click one button on the computer which is 'next' or 'enter'.

The score i'm giving myself on music is a 10 ,because in the internet you can get music that goes with the power point and slideshare. Also people will get intertain with the music that goes with the slideshare and powerpoint.

On effects i'm going to give myself a 10 ,because if i look on the powerpoint and slideshare i'm going to make it creative. Also you can put pictures to go with the topic or to go with the things you are going to be writing. Even it'll go with it and it'll be better with it instead of leaving the blank spots blank and just have words with it. And i can put examples for the theme and that'll make the 6th graders understand the theme of what i'm working on. Also in the powerpoint you search up the pictures in clip art but they don't have many pictures, But in slideshare i can download pictures on the internet and post copy and paste them.

MEASURMENTS
SCORE 1-10
SIMPLICITY
7
MUSIC
4
CHARACTERISTICS
10
TOTAL
21

SLIDESHOW:

The score i chose for simplicity i give myself an 7 because its easier to use and you can put pictures, music and more to the slideshow..its much easier to use ,but it may be difficult as well. Also i understand how you use it. The project has to be 2mins long so i have enough time to present it.

The score i chose for music is an 4 because it might be difficult to put in the music on the slideshow. I also gave myself a 4 because the music will go with the slideshow and the people will get intertian with the music. but the music will go with the slideshow.

The score i chose for characteristics is a 10 . the reason i chose to give myself a 10 because its easier to put pictures. i can put special effects on the slide show to make it better than just having the music and making it all plain. so thats why i gave myself an 10 for characteristics.

DAY 2-INVESTIGATION REFLECTION

Today, I researched how to do a slide show i found the information that might help me for this assignment. this website may help me by comparing a slide show on one website to another. i chose slide boom and slide now i need to see what are the difference. now i need to design a story board on my assignment. i hope this slide show will help the 6th graders about the design cycle.

assignment#1 design folder

Area of Interaction: Community and Service , Approaches to Learning & Human Ingenuity
Significant Concept: Design Cycle can be used to solve problems
Unit Question: How can my learning help my community? How do I make Sound Choices?
INVESTIGATE: (Write in complete sentences) Identify the Problem
1. What is the problem you need to solve? Explain to a 6th grader what the design cycle is all about by creating a presentation. (3d, PPT, movie, game, Poster)
2. How does the Design Cycle apply to the real world?the design cycle apply to the real world by showing whats going on during the process of what your doing.
3. How will this project serve my community?this project can serve my community by showing what the design cycle is all about.
4. How can my learning help my community?learning can help my community by knowing things already ,but also asking things you don't know.
5. How do we live in relation to each other?we live in relation to each other by knowing about other people
6. How does this help others?this helps others by showing them what the design cycle is and learning more about it.
7. What are the requirements for this assignment?the requirements for this assignment is that we can do a slide show about the design cycle or a drawing to compare other things that are almost the same.
8. What is the Design Cycle?the design cycle is a process that shows things such as computer stuff and other things out in the world.
REFLECT on your learning.
Day 2
9. Spend one day experimenting with DESIGN CYCLE your presentation. List five things your learned about the Design Cycle:
Day 3
Design Brief
10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it.
Formulate a Design Specification
11. What are the requirements for this assignment?
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment?
13. How will you "test" your presentation?
REFLECT ON YOUR LEARNING
PLAN:
14. Brainstorm ideas. Use the chart below
IB Brainstorming Chart .pdf found in schoology under “materials”& then files
15. What idea did you choose to demonstrate the design cycle and why did you choose it?
16. Does your idea meet all of the requirements?
17. Use the story board paper below to plan your presentation.  Include how many levels you will have, what will be on each level, how will you include teaching skills to young students, and what will your questions be about.
story board.pdf found in schoology under “materials” & then files.
18. Explain how you will use your time to get your project finished in 12 days:
REFLECT on your learning
EVALUATE:
20. How could you improve your presentation?
21. Does your presentation meet all of the requirements?
22. Share your presentation with at least 2-8th, 3-9th, 4-10th+ friends. What did he/she like about your presentation?
23. Reflect on all the steps of the Design Cycle. What did you do well? What do you need to improve?
24. Were you responsible in using the software, Internet, pictures, and computer?
25. How can my learning help my community?
26. What grade do you deserve on this project? (1 - 6)
